Sweattshop blues

You know, this art thing isn't like most of the world at large thinks it is.

The drive tends to spring from a place inside that is fueled by fun, happiness, youth. However, gaining success and livability through a medium of expression, drives down the innocence from which the artist was first seeded.

Money, food, taxes, toys, and all the other things that come from the world, do not bribe the boatman to help you cross the river to a productive and enlightened shore.
The needs of creative people have, throughout history, blossomed from a nexus of common themes, availability of malleable materials, and a minimum of undo distractions.

I think that for every artist, a main source of distraction is time. I do not mean to say that inspired people contest every project due date, nor do I suggest that art is ever really completed.

"Art is never finished, it is simply abandoned."

Have I missed the boat?

  1. In art there is no boat to miss. I know many good artists that haven't made it yet and their older than you. Some artists don't make it until they're dead.(I hope this works out better for you)As far as your numbness after 4 hours...think more like 40 years. Keep on plugging. It's been raining for 11 days. Gotta stop someday.
