Nordic Noble Thor Pencil Drawing

Nordic Noble ready for adventure.  Thor worshiper from the cold country.
Final pencil drawing of D&D noble out on quest.

Donation drawing for the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Connecticut Chapter.

Dear Dennis Sweatt:

I am writing to you on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Connecticut Chapter.  After 20 years of fundraising on behalf of this wonderful charity, I am both honored and proud to announce I am a 2014 Man of the Year Candidate.  On May 3, 2014, at 6:30 p.m., LLS will be hosting its Annual MWOY Dinner at Waterview, Monroe, Connecticut, to benefit this worthy cause (http://www.mwoy.org/ct/).
I am dreaming big to compete with the corporate, hedge fund, & banker types that I will be going against in a 10-week fundraising sprint at the end of February to May 3, 2014.  Being a geek, middle school science teaching, comic collector, I am asking the comic industry to get behind my candidacy for something awesome—a 2014 online auction that will raise both awareness and donations for LLS.
For the past 20 years, I have been actively involved in fundraising for this worthy charity.  During this time in Connecticut, I coordinated both Coleytown Middle School and North Haven Middle School to raise over $111,000 for LLS through grade 8 vs. staff faculty basketball games.   Starting last year, I solicited donations to simply give directly to LLS for their biggest CT fundraiser, The Man & Woman of the Year Dinner.
This cause is dear to me because my grandmother, Anne Zavorskas, passed away several years ago from Hodgkin’s disease--a form of leukemia. Also, many years ago, my mentor’s son, Ryan Hurley, had a remission of the cancer, which he was first diagnosed with at the age of three. He died at the age of 19.  (Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer in children under the age of 20.)  These instances led me to my desire to donate time and money to this particular charity. All of my hard work and dedication to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Connecticut Chapter has earned me their 2000 prestigious "Unsung Hero" Award as well as the 2005 Mid-Fairfield County American Red Cross "Unsung Hero" award for my charitable work, both of which I deeply appreciate.
I am kindly requesting a donation of an original piece of artwork (created for this event or one already created on hand) to be used for this auction in April 2014.  If you are interested, please confirm and send me the piece(s) by the end of this year.  I plan on using the power of social media, my MOY LLS candidate status, and the LLS itself to promote this online fundraiser.  In turn, I promise to promote you and other talent in the auction catalog, press releases, websites, etc… concerning this event.
The following are some of the talent that has or will donate to my MOY LLS auction:  Charlie Adlard, Humberto Ramos, Alitha Martinez, LeBeau Underwood, Will Conrad, Jay Reed Styleuniversal, John Sobie,  Eddy Newell, Barry Kitson, Everett Soares, Marat Mychaels, Nikkol Jelenic, James Di Angelo, Annie Claire Bouche, John Pross, Tom Rasch, Gabriele Derosas, Mark McKenna, Eddy Newell, Tyler Kirkham, Joseph Schmalke, Ken Lashley, Rich Woodall, & Ken Lashley!  Please feel free to tell your friends to get involved and to also “tag team” with one another (pencils/ink/color).  If any of you are going to be at New York Comic Con in October (or an event in CT), I can possibly pick up your donation in person, too.
If you need to verify any of the above information you can do so at or email me at toddzavorskas@sbcglobal.net

Sincerely,
Todd Zavorskas, Fundraiser
LLS CT Chapter

  1. This is a really cool sketch - the style kind of reminds me of some of the older D&D modules from the early '80's - similar to the pencils by guys like Larry Elmore. Very cool in a retro sort of way!
